"HOWDY COWDYYYYY!!!!  Music City Hostel was home away from home. The owner Ron was very helpful and friendly and his staff were a lot of fun too. The walk into town was ok and I always felt safe. I spent most nights hopping the Honky Tonks and I must say my favourites were 'Bluegrass Inn' and 'Roberts' - Thur/Fri/Sat. Dont forget to tip em when they do the rounds as all the performers dont get paid to perform along that stripe!

Quick free thangs to pop into which are full of music history: Ernest Tubb Record Shop, Hatch Show Print, Tootsies and the back ally between The Grand Ole Opry and the Bars along the stripe, where the performers from the Opry use to hop across between shows for a few drinks.

Things to find: The shoe shop near 'Roberts' where you can buy three pairs of Cowboy boots for the price of one! Leave room in your suitcase for this.... I didnt! Go to the boot scooting joint for some serious boot scooting - Ron will know the one! And follow the main street, through town and all the way to the end until you get to the river.... just lovely.

Things to do: Get your picture taken on stage at the Opry. Go on the local ghost tour - I even got a picture of a ghost in the tower high up on the hill behind the Opry at night!!"

"We originally weren't planning on going to Nashville, but once there we had an incredible time, everyone at the hostel where so nice, both the staff, the guests, as well as crazy irish ex-guests. We will especially remember the trip to the buffalo river, it was great fun to experience the "local culture". Thanks to Ron, Eric, Michael, Laura and everyone else we met for the good times spent.

Peter and Johan"

"Music City Hostel is a super place, the people are very friendly, and its possible to drink beers in the lawn and BBQ on the gas grill.  Nashville has really great bars, If you like LIVE Country music "The Stage" and "Tootsie" on Broadway are a must.  If you'd like to see sexy bartenders dancing on the counter "Coyote Ugly" on 2nd street is the place you have to see (just like the movie with the same title).   Peter and Johan"

Paluu on mielessa :)  Mika"

"The Music City Hostel in Nashville is more like a home than a just place to spend the nights.  That's because of the relaxed feeling of the staff.  Good bus connections to/from downtown until midnight, even taxi/ cab prices are ok during the night.  Also walking from the downtown area to the hostel was safe (about 30 min).  Oh, the laughs we had the with Ron, the English lady and the former hostel keeper from the Northwest. I Will return  :)   Mika"

"Our stay here was really great .... Safety was a big issue for us, as was location and the hostel is really safe and only 1.3 miles away from Downtown which is really convenient as we have had to walk to and from a couple of times. The bus system is really nice here ..... MEMORIZE BUS SCHEDULES if you plan on getting to places on time. Most bars & clubs are available to minors before 10 PM, which is really nice. Nashville is a fun city, the hostel is a great stay, and Ron is really great :)"

"I had a ball of Music City Nashville. It's close downtown which was great for me as I was frequently busking on the strip. It has all the facilities you need and has a nice home-like feel. Would definitely like to come back and visit again."

"My stay at Ron's Music City Hostel was really a delight and very relaxing. His hospitality and his obvious love for the profession of 'youth hosteller' make you feel at home right away. When I arrived I was introduced to the other guests with whom I had dinner after. It is really nice how free you are; you can choose to participate in socializing but you can just as well go your own way, ... I would like to recommend everybody who's even around this area to visit Music City Hostel, and Nashville!"

"Hey folks, sorry about the accents but I'm currently in the USA! I'm just out of a week in Nashville, in which I have been sleeping - but not only! - in the Music City Hostel. I will always remember my stay there! First of all, the whole staff make you feel like you're home, it's convivial, nice, relaxed... in short, you're free! If there are some musicians in the place, feel free to stay cooped up in your room or stuck in front of your laptop... but you'd miss what gives its name to Music City!! Furthermore, you'll likely meet people from different countries, from different origins, but generally very kind, generous, friendly and trustworthy. I've been leaving my iPod unsupervised like everywhere in the Hostel during the whole week and nothing was missing when I finally left!! To sum it up, it was an unique experience. Cheers and thanks to all the staff of Music City Hostel! I'll be back as soon as possible..."
